Youth Peace Network Hosts Interfaith Literacy and Dialogue Training

Peace Islands Institute recently hosted an Interfaith Literacy and Dialogue training as part of its Youth Peace Network initiative, formerly known as the Youth Academy. The program brought together young participants for an engaging and reflective conversation on faith, dialogue, and the responsibilities of being thoughtful and informed members of a diverse society.

The session featured Hakan Yesilova, editor of The Fountain Magazine, who shared insights on the role of dialogue, media, and education in fostering mutual understanding across religious and cultural differences. Drawing from his editorial and interfaith experience, Yesilova encouraged participants to approach difference with curiosity, humility, and a commitment to thoughtful engagement rather than division.

This event reflected the core mission of the Youth Peace Network to equip young people with the tools, language, and confidence to engage in meaningful dialogue and become agents of peace within their communities. Through conversations like these, Peace Islands Institute continues to invest in youth leadership and promote a culture of understanding rooted in respect, learning, and shared values.
