Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at PII Office!
Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) is a month that celebrates history, culture, and the contributions of people who have a hispanic background. As Peace Islands, we decided to incorporate this tradition into our community as well as Black History Month celebration, Women History Month celebration and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration and held a dinner with several figures of the Hispanic community.
It was an amazing experience to celebrate with the members of the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs which is an organization that works to improve the lives of Morris County hispanic residents as well as low-income families by providing them with social services and client advocacy.
It was great to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month together with @mcohanj Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs and our local friends! 🎉 pic.twitter.com/YQXu1vu50E

It was an honor hearing figures such as MCOHA Chairperson Dr. Maria Isaza, MCOHA Senior Attorney Janice Perez Rojas, MCOHA Resource Center Director Maria Rojas Botero and MCOHA Executive Director Marcela I. Lenox as guest speakers amongst many others. We had around 45 people attend and had an amazing time!
